Document Translation Quality Assurance

Translation quality assurance is the last formal step of our document translation process. Multiple individuals such as linguists, editors, client reviewers, and a translation DTP team are involved in creating a translated document. To ensure that all pieces have been tied up together correctly, Globalme employs a multi-step translation quality assurance review. This review is in addition to editing and proofreading steps which are part of the traditional translation process.

During the quality assurance review, our translation QA team compares the final translated document to the source text from both linguistic and cosmetic (design, layout, etc.) aspects and ensures that the core marketing message is preserved. Any issues found during the review are addressed by the linguists or the translation DTP team. The quality review is repeated until the document gets the final approval for release from both the QA team and the client.

Translation Quality Assurance Scope

The scope of translation quality assurance may vary depending on materials being tested but in general, our testing team ensures the following:

• Proper language is used for the educational level of target end users
• Disclaimers or legal blurbs are suitable for the target market
• Functionality of the file is preserved (where applicable e.g. help localization, interactive pdf translation)
• Translation fits in the context
• There are no layout issues in the document (e.g. truncated text, missing images)
• Text displays properly (no garbage characters) and completely
