Francesca Globalme Project Manager
My name is Francesca, and I am Globalme’s Localization Project Manager. I was born and raised in a small town in the countryside near Venice, Italy. But ever since my 19th birthday, I’ve lived here, there, and everywhere! I studied at the faculty for translators and interpreters in Trieste – another small city near the border of Slovenia – where I earned both my Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees.
Have I mentioned that I can speak six languages? My mother tongue, Italian, French, English, and Spanish are my strongest – but I can also whip out some Portuguese and German. Before graduating, I spent five months in London for an internship, and after graduating, I moved to Milan for two and a half years. Soon, the travel bug hit hard – and I found myself wanderlusting to go abroad to live inside a different culture. I wanted something as simple and exciting as speaking another language every day at work!
Though I had originally planned on that ‘somewhere new’ being in Montreal, Vancouver suddenly became my new home. After spending just two short days touristing around the city, I fell upon Globalme with my resume in hand and voila! Globalme was meant to be! Being so close to both the mountains and the ocean was also an ever-so-slightly alluring prospect.
I adore that Globalme is not a traditional company; it is unique in the fact that I never do the same thing twice; every day is a totally new day, and every project is also totally new. I love learning on the go, and Globalme has most definitely provided me with lots of new challenges to tackle.
Here are 2 truths and 1 lie about me – take a guess at what is what, and tweet it at us at @Globalmedotnet!
