From May 9th to the 12th, everybody involved in Human-Computer Interaction will be focusing on San Jose, California. The sun-flooded city in the San Francisco Bay Area will be hosting the CHI 2016 Conference this year. Since we are big fans of both Human-Computer Interaction and sunny weather, we decided to pack our suitcases, hop on a plane, and travel down south this May.
CHI 2016 Conference
We are very proud to announce that Globalme will be one of the exhibitors attending the show. You will be able to find our booth right between the booths of Elsevier and Samsung at the back of the conference hall (booth number 300). Don’t hesitate to come over and chat with us. We’ll have a nice surprise for you too when you are there. The only thing we can say about it is that it will be fun, wearable and expresses how you feel…
Open to Interpretation
Since conferences are supposed to be both interesting and fun we thought it would be nice to set up a little experiment. Did you know that the famous emojis, used on smartphones, tablets and chat programs make up the fastest evolving language on the planet? Every year more people start using emojis to replace words to communicate with others. They have even been called the ‘Armageddon of language’ by some. The beauty of using emojis instead of language is that they mean the same thing everywhere you go, right? Well, that’s what we think at least. At CHI 2016 we are going to put that statement to the test.
People visiting our booth will be able to enter an interactive contest where they translate short emoji stories to English sentences. The most creative interpretation will be winning an Amazon Tap!
Meet Us at the Conference
We are not flying to San Jose to do just an experiment. The most important reason to be at the show is to meet new people, chat with other tech companies and tell the visitors of the conference a thing or two about our company and what we can do for them.
Let’s meet in San Jose!
