Ho ho ho!

We love the holidays here at Globalme. It’s a time to gather with friends and family, but it’s also an opportunity to give back to our local community.

Living our core value of #IMPACT, we take the month of December and help spread holiday cheer, volunteering at tons of non-profit events across our home city of Vancouver.

Here’s where you’ll find us this holiday season!

The Great Big Give, A Loving Spoonful

A Loving Spoonful is a volunteer-driven non-profit group that provides free, nutritious meals to people living with HIV and co-existing illness in the Vancouver area. They serve close to 100,000 free, nutritious meals a year, and we’re happy to support their cause!

Globalme volunteered at The Great Big Give Event, a by-donation breakfast fundraiser in support of A Loving Spoonful at Mary’s on Davie on Friday, December 6th.

AIDS Vancouver Supplementary Grocery Program

The AIDS Vancouver Supplementary Grocery Program is another local cause that aims to address food security issues in the Vancouver area. They provide over 16,000 supplemental grocery bags to approximately 1200 clients annually.

Globalme volunteered at their Holiday Grocery event on December 10th—helping pack grocery bags.

Union Gospel Mission Gifts of Hope

Union Gospel Mission provides all kinds of essential services to those in need in Vancouver, including meals, shelter, and outreach programs. They also provide life recovery programs, job preparation sessions, education programs, affordable housing, and other preventative programs that help build healthy families.

The UGM Gifts of Hope program allows parents to shop for gifts for their families, free of cost, from the Christmas Hamper Store. Our team was there to help welcome guests, wrap gifts, and pick the best presents 😉

YWCA Presents of Peace

Globalme is also sponsoring a family through YWCA Metro Vancouver’s Presents of Peace holiday hamper program

We have been matched with someone from the YWCA Strive Program—a 12-week program for North Shore and Vancouver youth, ages 17-24, who are transitioning or have transitioned out of foster care. The program aims to help youth successfully transition into independence by coaching them on general life and employability skills.

Here’s our team wrapping their gifts!

Bonus International Giving Content!

A group of our Argentinian team members were inspired by the Vancouver team’s giving back initiatives and decided to give back to their community too!

Globalme’s “Argies” will be making contributions to Nochebuena para todos Rosario, which translates to “Christmas Eve for Everyone”

The idea is to set up a Christmas Box with typical Christmas food. In Argentina, most employers give a box like this in December to their employees to help out families in need. It’s also common to include additional items, like presents for the kid.

Each of our four participating team members were assigned a family. Enjoy these pics!

It’s going to be a busy month, but we couldn’t be more excited. We’ll update this post with pictures from each event as we attend them!

Happy holidays!
