The first thing I saw when I walked into Globalme’s Gastown office was the wooden sign. Perfectly framed by the office’s red brick walls and overlooking a shared open workspace, the first descriptive word that came to my mind was…Okay, I’ll say it: “hipster” – quickly followed by “young”, “dynamic”, “multicultural”, and “innovative”.

I was arriving for my interview for Globalme’s Project Assistant/Office Manager position, and my first impression was excitement – a new, cutting-edge company with an international reach, looking to hire young and passionate individuals to contribute to their success. Uh, a dream job!

On my first day working, I remember the novelty of sharing a table with freelancers from France, Italy, Spain, and Russia, delighted by the medley of Catalán, Italian, and French that I heard in the background as I worked.

And I soon came to learn that these were only a handful of Globalme’s extensive international community of freelancers, which includes linguists, translators, localization engineers, and most recently, dozens of bilingual runners and cyclists who are helping make Globalme’s localization projects a success, in Vancouver and abroad.

You may have read about Globalme’s most recent project which includes teaching sports glasses how to talk (in multiple different languages, I may add). Not to brag, but we do pretty cool things around here.

Have I mentioned we are hiring?

In the last two months since I started my position at Globalme, the core team has expanded by 40%, and we keep on growing!

To give you an idea of how fast things are moving around here, Globalme has been on the Profit 500 list of BC’s Fastest Growing Companies for the last 2 years straight, and also earned the official certification as a women-owned business by WeConnect International. Needless to say, Globalme is reaching new horizons at a rapid pace, and we’re looking for awesome new members to join our team.

But let’s get real here, Globalme is not for everyone – it’s definitely not your average workplace. What makes Globalme dynamic is that each and every team member is a part of the creative process. This means you steer your own ship and find the resources to navigate through uncertainties and come up with solutions. It’s challenging work at Globalme, but it’s also rewarding. If you’re looking to learn and grow in tandem with a rapidly expanding company, then Globalme is the place to be.

The tech industry itself is constantly striving to reach new limits, and Globalme lies at the forefront of this innovation with its linguistic contribution and localization services. Translation?
Globalme makes new and cutting-edge technologies speak different languages, while ensuring these technologies reach different cultures and languages around the world by “localizing” them in every aspect.

Pretty cool, huh?

If you have a passion for language and technology, love a challenge, and are a make-things-happen achiever in the workplace, we want to hear from you. Check out our job postings and drop us a line if the idea of joining Globalme’s team makes you want to dance a little.

An impromptu two-step or cha-cha-cha always brightens our day.
